BERMONDSEY SQUARE PLANS - OPEN DAYS
Friday 14, Saturday 15 & Wednesday 19 March
Fri 9.30am-12 noon; Sat 10.30am-4pm; Web 5.30pm-8pm
at the Watch House (corner of churchyard, where
Bermondsey Street meets Abbey Street/Long Lane)
Urban Catalyst are holding three open days to show
their revised plans for Bermondsey Square. The
developers and architects will be on hand to explain
and discuss the proposals.

RED CROSS GARDENS OPEN DAY
Saturday 15 March
12 noon-3pm at Red Cross Gardens, Redcross Way
Red Cross Gardens Open Day is being organised by
Bankside Open Spaces Trust as part of an ongoing
consultation process for the improvement of Red Cross
Gardens.  Red Cross Gardens was first laid out in 1832
by Octavia Hill, co-founder of the National Trust. The
garden and its social housing are considered one of the
best surviving examples of Octavia Hill's work. Designs
for the garden will on display for local residents,
organisations and businesses to view and discuss with
the landscape architects Chris Blandford Associates and
Bankside Open Spaces Trust. There will be a free mosaic
workshop run by FreeForm Arts Trust, as well as food
and soft drinks.

LONDON ST PATRICK'S DAY FESTIVAL
Sunday 16 March
12 noon-6pm on the South Bank between Jubilee Gardens
and the National Theatre
This will be an inclusive family event with two
performance stages. Other festival features include
marquees showcasing Irish food and drink, arts and
crafts, music and dance. There will also be several
bars, community stalls and food outlets.

ERNEST READ SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CHILDREN'S CONCERT
Sunday 16 March 
5pm at St John's Church, Waterloo Road; �7, children �5
Ernest Read Symphony Orchestra will perform works by
Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Berlioz and Britten.  Conductor,
Peter Stark, will explain the pieces in a
child-friendly manner with musical illustrations and
invite the children to sit in the orchestra during the
pieces and perhaps even to conduct. Ages 8-12.

obtain the services of a TREASURER as well as wishing

about once every six weeks and last about two hours
