J&L Gibbons Landscape Architects and Bankside Open
Spaces Trust have worked with a steering group of
residents and community representatives to agree a
design for the park. The park now has new play
equipment, and a fantastic art project produced with
children from Tower Bridge Primary School. The park's
lighting and pathways make sense, the fencing and gates
have been replaced, new turf has been laid and new
benches installed. The war memorial and its surrounding
stonework have been cleaned and repaired. The whole
project has been carried out with sympathy to the
history and tranquillity of this park. The event is the
first celebration for the local community in the new
park. There will be information stalls, refreshments,
gardening workshops, live music, children's
entertainment and, of course, a bouncy castle!
