This will be one of the last time the bridge will be raised before its refurbishment in Spring 2002. Since September, Coastguards and the RNLI have been conducting extensive training programmes throughout the area that finish this month with an exercise involving a wide range of search and rescue scenarios. Well, it's a Christmas tree made from 12 fibreglass replicas of modern Minis, and it leaves the Pool of London on Wednesday. Watch it live on the ThamesCam http://www.livesights.com Saturday 5 January AFRO-CUBAN LIGHT FESTIVALS National Theatre; 1pm--7.15pm Chill out with the palm-wine sounds of Grass Roots (1pm) and encounter the infectious raw jazzy Kwela flavours of Positively Testcard (6pm). Soak up the vibe with music and art workshops, stories and stalls and a final chance to explore the exhibition of lanterns. 10.15pm--11.45pm: Chase the January blues away with the sunny sounds and carnival spirit of Kiko Cowan's Expresion Cubana.
