THE HURRICANES CALYPSO BAND AT HAY'S GALLERIA
Wednesday 31 July
6.30-8.30pm at Hay's Galleria; free
A truly Caribbean band with their feisty sounds of Hot
Hot Hot calypsos and soca, spicy Latin and real cool
Reggae music. The band includes steel pans (steel band
instruments), bass guitar, drums and keyboards.
Tropical entertainment at its best.

SOUTHWARK BY THE SEA DROP-IN SESSIONS
Thursday 1 and Friday 2 August 
11am-3pm at Mint Street Adventure Playground
Come and make seaside decorations for the Park and
Children's Parade (see below)

Saturday 3 August
12.30pm-7pm at Mint Street Park
Free community event presented by Southwark Playhouse
and Bankside Open Spaces Trust. Plenty of seaside games
and activities, including coconut shies, quoits,
fishing games, limbo dancing, twister, face and henna
painting, plus art, craft and puppet workshops.
The afternoon's programme includes a children's parade,
end of the pier show, sea shanties from Borough Music
School, a dog show, tug of war and much more.

GRANTS FOR WINDOWBOXES IN BANKSIDE
Bankside Open Spaces Trust is giving out small grants
to Bankside residents for window box, balcony and small
or community garden projects. The deadline for the next
round of grants is 31st August - for more details and
