SIR ROY STRONG: THE GARDEN AND TABLE DECORATION
FIVE CENTURIES OF FEASTING AND DECORATION
Wednesday 4 December 
7pm at the Museum Of Garden History, Lambeth Road;
�10 from 020 7401 8865
The art of the table and the garden are inextricably
intertwined. From the late medieval banquet, at which
plates could display food in the guise of a garden,
down to the forest of foliage and flower typical of the
Victorian dinner, the table has been a mirror of
changing garden style. Sir Roy Strong explores this
decorative dialogue across five centuries. This is a
joint event with the Garden History Society from which
Sir Roy recently retired as President.

Rose continues her fight to stay in her council flat. A
week after its opening, Silka gets rid of its star
waitress. And local poet and playwright John Constable
conducts a shamanistic ceremony to contact some dead
residents of the Borough.

looking for local residents to take part in some
informal group discussions. We'll talk about the supply
of electricity and heating and how to make it cheaper
and greener as part of the regeneration in the
Southwark area. You don't need any special knowledge.
The discussions will be in groups of 5 or 6 people,
last 2 hours and be held locally in the evenings. We'll
give ten pounds plus a couple of energy saving
lightbulbs worth �12 for your time.
