Come and learn more about the site and the Rose Theatre Trust's plans for it. http://www.rosetheatre.org.uk FRIENDS OF ARCHBISHOPS PARK ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Monday 30 June 7pm at China Walk Tenants Hall, SE11 (third on the left as you enter Lambeth Walk from Lambeth Road) This will be a chance to hear what the developers of the Founders Place Scheme are planning, meet Lambeth's area parks officer and also hear about the Sport Action Zones plans for the area. The Friends will report on progress on the lease negotiations and plans to achieve external investment in the park. If you are a user of SE1's largest green space, make sure you are there to support this dedicated group working to protect and improve this vital amenity. BOROUGH & BANKSIDE COMMUNITY COUNCIL Wednesday 2 July 2003 7pm at Charles Dickens School, Lant Street This month's meeting will include a presentation on the Trinity Square traffic scheme. HAVE YOUR SAY IN THE PUBLIC DEBATE Friday 4 July 6.45pm-9pm at a venue near Borough Market The Government is sponsoring a public debate on whether or not to introduce Genetically Modified crops to the UK in the autumn. Now is the time to get involved in the debate and have your say! Do you want GM crops growing in the UK? Can GM and non-GM crops co-exist? Will consumer choice be threatened? How safe is GM food? Can GM help solve world hunger? What are the threats or benefits to the environment? Come to a meeting to learn more about these issues. There will be speakers outlining the case for and against GM crops but the focus will be on your questions and discussion. You will also be able to fill in a feedback form to contribute your own views to the official public debate report to the Government. Speakers include Lord Melchett, policy director at The Soil Association and Dr Dave Carmichael, an arable farmer and NFU member (tbc). For a free ticket and details of the venue call 020 7837 0642.
