JUMP LONDON - FREE RUNNING ON CHANNEL 4
Tuesday 9 September
10pm on Channel 4
A look at the physical sport of free running , a method
of crossing a town or city by leaping between buildings
and rooftops. Sebastien Foucan, the sport's co-founder,
attempts to conquer London for the first time, taking
in a dozen landmarks including the National Theatre,
HMS Belfast, the Millennium Bridge, Tate Modern,
Shakespeare's Globe  and the Saatchi Gallery.

NORTH LAMBETH UNITARY DEVELOPMENT PLAN CONSULTATION
Wednesday 10 September
7pm at St John's Church, Waterloo Road
Lambeth Council has organised a series of consultative
meetings across the borough as part of the review of
its Unitary Development Plan (UDP). This sets out
policies on how the council would like change to occur,
what can and cannot be built and where it wants to
encourage new development to achieve economic growth.
It also aims for balanced and sustainable communities.

SOUTH BANK FORUM
Thursday 11 September
7pm-9pm at Franklin Wilkins Building, 150 Stamford
Street
Topics will include a progress report on the Feliks
Topolski exhibition in Concert Hall Approach and a
report on local policing from Kennington Police.
Patricia Moberly will speak about Guy's and St Thomas'
NHS Trust foundation hospital application, and
Transport for London and their consultants will present
proposals to develop new bus stands in Tenison Way (for
Waterloo Station).

POETRY LIVE IN THE SURGICAL ARENA - THE FACE OF WAR
Thursday 11 September
7pm at the Old Operating Theatre Museum & Herb Garret;

David Keller reads Poems OF Conflict by Simon Rae. With
the war in Iraq still a vivid memory, Top Edge
Productions presents a programme of poems exploring
human conflict, ranging in scale from personal
confrontation to the threat of Armageddon.

YOUNG VIC THEATRE REDEVELOPMENT - OPEN DAY
Saturday 13 September
10am-1pm
The building is 33 years old, worn out and impossible
to repair. The theatre has decided to build a new
structure. They have held two opens day and received
many helpful ideas. Now they want to show the revised
designs submitted for planning approval. Come and see
the model and talk to the team.

THE MAYOR'S THAMES FESTIVAL
Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 September
Annual riverside festival. Highlights include Sticky, a
pyrotechnic event in Jubilee Gardens on Saturday night,
and the annual procession of light on Sunday evening.
During the day there are events on and around the
river, including a riverside bazaar and funfair, food,
music and entertainment. See below for details of

THAMES FESTIVAL: FIRING ON THE FORESHORE
STEWARDS WANTED 
Bankside STEWards, in conjunction with CRISIS Skylight,
are creating a firing of objects made from Thames Clay
on the foreshore between the Millenium Bridge and the
Globe Theatre, on Saturday 13 September from 7pm until
the rising tide extinguishes it at midnight. We will
disinter the results at 7.30am Sunday morning when the
tide revals the site - followed by breakfast at the
Globe Theatre.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR STEWARDS FOR THIS EVENT. If you

There will be a BRIEFING MEETING Thursday 11 September
@ 7PM meet at Provost's Lodging, 51 Bankside - adjacent
to firing site to discuss health and safety issues,
build a stone platform ready for the fire on Saturday
AND make some clay pots or artefacts to fire on
Saturday.
