Taking part will be former prisoners, prison staff and chaplains, magistrates and prison visitors and the congregation will include serving prisoners, prison staff and governors, representatives from voluntary sector agencies who work with prisoners and their families, and people from many parts of the British penal system. The address will be delivered by Anne Owers, HM Chief Inspector of Prisons. The Rt Rev Tom Butler, Bishop of Southwark, will also be present. http://www.dswark.org/cathedral BOROUGH & BANKSIDE COMMUNITY COUNCIL Tuesday 18 November 7pm at St Matthew's, Meadow Row (off New Kent Road) Meeting open to residents of Chaucer and Cathedrals wards. Business includes: Update on Policing Issues in Borough and Bankside. Presentation regarding Section 106 money available to Borough and Bankside Community Council area, and some examples of how this money could be used. Presentations on the Borough Market and the Appointment process for both Trustees and Wardens for 2004. Presentation by Primary Care Trust on Health issues, followed by questions and answers. King's College & Guy's and St Thomas's Hospitals are doing joint consultation on the establishment of foundation hospitals - they will give a short presentation followed by Q&A and a workshop session. This session provides an opportunity to pose questions directly to the hospitals on their proposals to become foundation hospitals. At 9.15pm councillors will consider full planning permission for Block A of the former Hartley's Jam Factory at 27 Green Walk SE1. http://quicklink.se1direct.co.uk/?id=529 SHELL ELECTRIC STORM ON THE SOUTH BANK From Tuesday 18 November From dusk to 11pm on the South Bank A stunning display of colour, light, mist and sound powered entirely by renewable energy provided by a 43 metre wind turbine and interacting with the wind creating a new show every night. Visitors will be able to stroll inside Shell Electric Storm, passing between two rows of trees for half a kilometre, from near the London Eye to the IBM building. The South Bank itself will be brightly lit through the winter nights by the new attraction, with Shell Electric Storm clearly visible from the other side of the river. Shell Electric Storm will run until mid-February and the trees will be illuminated every evening from dusk until 11pm. The colour, movement, music and light will constantly change, as Shell Electric Storm reacts in harmony with prevailing weather conditions, from high wind through to total calm. http://www.shellelectricstorm.com BERMONDSEY COMMUNITY COUNCIL Wednesday 19 November 7pm at Millpond TRA Hall, 210a Jamaica Road Meeting open to residents of Riverside, Grange and South Bermondsey wards. Business includes Borough Spending Plan/TfL update from Trevor Wilding. City Growth Strategy update by Sean Connolly. Inspector Mark Johnson to discuss policing in Bermondsey. Rolls Road Crossing Petition: Mrs Warne will present a petition to councillors by on behalf of all signatories. There will be a presentation on Foundation Hospitals followed by open debate. Tim Thompson (Regeneration Department) will report back on the Spa Regeneration Project.
