FROST FAIR ON BANKSIDE
Monday 22 December
12-10pm on the riverside by Shakespeare's Globe
Riverside fair in front of the Globe with craft  and
food stalls, street theatre, carols, bell  ringing, art
and tree dressing. Lunchtime activities for children
from 12 noon. From 6.30pm there will be mulled wine and
chestnuts available.

ELEPHANT & CASTLE CHRISTMAS FUN DAY
Monday 22 December
From 1.30pm at the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre
Live music, tea and cake, face painting and baloons for
chidren. From 4.30pm there will be Latin American
singing and dancing, Father Christmas, giveaways and
Nativity (pesebre) sets.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AT BOROUGH MARKET
Until Wednesday 24 December
Monday & Tuesday 12 noon-6pm; Wednesday 10am-3pm
Borough Market is open for a final opportunity to buy
high quality produce for the Christmas table. The
Market is then closed until Saturday 3 January when
normal opening hours resume.

RADIO 4 MIDNIGHT MASS FROM ST GEORGE'S CATHEDRAL
Wednesday 24 December
11.15pm at St George's Cathedral, Lambeth Road and live
on BBC Radio 4
Midnight Mass at Southwark's Roman Catholic cathedral
starts early this year to accommodate the needs of
Radio 4's broadcast. 
The new Archbishop of Southwark, the Most Revd Kevin
McDonald, celebrates the  first Mass of Christmas. The
Cathedral Choir sing the Mass to the setting for double
choir and organ by Charles-Marie Widor and a feast of
carols including Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Adeste
Fideles.
The service is preceded at 10.45pm by Readings and
Carols (led by the Girls' Choir). Mass (and the Radio 4
broadcast) start at 11.15pm prompt. The congregation is
asked to be seated before 11pm. There will be no
admissions after Mass has started.

SEE THE UNSUCCESSFUL OLYMPIC LOGO DESIGNS
Mill Street-based design firm John Nash and Friends
has set up a gallery on its website for the entrants
who entered the London 2012 Logo Bid competition held
