For a more comprehensive what's on guide check out 'in SE1' - see http://www.inSE1.co.uk for details. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - PUBLIC MEETING: BUSES IN NORTH LAMBETH AND SOUTHWARK Monday 8 March 7pm in St Anselm's Church Hall, Kennington Cross SE11 (286 Kennington Road, at the junction of Kennington Road and Kennington Lane) In response to complaints about the bus services in North Lambeth and Southwark the Kennington Association is getting together with the Kennington, Oval and Vauxhall town centre forum to organise a public meeting about buses. London Buses will be represented by Andrew Boag and Belinda Danino. The area's councils will be represented by John Stewart of Lambeth Council and Trevor Wilding of Southwark Council. The meeting will be joined by local politicians Kate Hoey, MP for Vauxhall, Cllr Caroline Pidgeon, deputy leader of Southwark Council, Cllr Andrew Sawdon, executive member for transport, Lambeth Council and Valerie Shawcross, London Assembly Member for Lambeth & Southwark. BERMONDSEY COMMUNITY COUNCIL Wednesday 10 March 7.30pm at Aylwin Girls' School, Southwark Park Road, SE16 Monthly meeting open to residents of Grange, Riverside & South Bermondsey wards. The agenda was not yet available on the Southwark Council website when this newsletter was compiled. http://quicklink.se1direct.co.uk/?id=536 LIVING STREETS: HELP TO FORM A SOUTHWARK BRANCH Thursday 11 March 7pm at the Old Kings Head, 45 Borough High Street Living Streets is a national charity with members and supporters across the country. It campaigns for better streets and public spaces for people on foot, not just for journeys but for leisure and community life. Members in Southwark are meeting this week to discuss setting up a branch. Everyone in the borough who wants to see living streets in Southwark will be very welcome. http://www.livingstreets.org.uk DONALD JUDD AT TATE MODERN: TV DOCUMENTARY ON FIVE Friday 12 March 7.30pm on (Channel) Five Nicholas Serota, Director of Tate, introduces his exhibition of American sculptor Donald Judd. Judd, who died in 1994, made boxes from industrial materials. Creating subtle effects of light and colour, Judd's boxes are some of modern art's most beautiful and mysterious objects. http://www.five.tv ST PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION ON THE SOUTH BANK Sunday 14 March 12 noon-6pm on the South Bank between Jubilee Gardens and Oxo Tower Wharf Annual St Patrick's Day family festival with staged performances, exhibitions, food stalls, live music and children's activities. The festival will be opened by Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London.
