The theme of the service this year is tolerance, and RC bishop Howard Tripp and the Anglican Bishop of Woolwich Colin Buchanan will give a short presentation on the theme. The Cathedral's Girls Choir will also take part. All are welcome. http://www.southwark-rc-cathedral.org.uk SOUTH BANK FORUM Thursday 18 March 7pm at Franklin-Wilkin Building, King's College, Stamford Street The quarterly meeting for residents living along the South Bank. Updates expected on Jubilee Gardens and Neighbourhood Centre. South Bank Centre Chief Executive Michael Lynch will be giving a short talk on immediate plans for the centre. THE WEATHER PROJECT: LATE NIGHT OPENING AT TATE MODERN Friday 19 and Saturday 20 March Tate Modern, Bankside London's only indoor sun is about to set for the very last time. To give you a last chance to see this much talked about phenomenon, Tate Modern will be staying open until after midnight on both Friday and Saturday nights, before the final sunset on Sunday . http://www.tate.org.uk/modern/ TIME OUT/PORTRAITS: PHOTOGRAPHY FROM TIME OUT ARCHIVE Friday 19 March to Friday 2 April Mon-Fri 10am-6pm at Tom Blau Gallery, 21 Queen Elizabeth Street For over thirty years the front cover of Time Out has been a familiar weekly feature on every London street corner and in every newsagent window. For the first time, Time Out's classic photography will take centre stage in a new exhibition: Time Out/ Portraits, at the Tom Blau Gallery. Featuring 25 iconic celebrity photographs from the last ten years Time Out / Portraits includes such internationally renowned names as David Beckham, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Jessica Parker, Keira Knightly, Robert Downey Jnr, Michael Stipe and Gwyneth Paltrow. All photographs included in the exhibition will be auctioned through silent auction for the duration of the exhibition on behalf of Warchild - providing a unique opportunity to take home a piece of London's cultural history. Bidders will also be given the opportunity to bid for the complete collection. http://www.tomblaugallery.com BBC RADIO 2 PRESENTS STAINER'S CRUCIFIXION Saturday 20 March 7pm (doors open 6.30pm, please be seated by 6.50pm) at Southwark Cathedral; free BBC Radio 2 will be recording Stainer's Crucifixion for broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on Good Friday. It will be performed by The Huddersfield Choral Society and the BBC Concert Orchestra and conducted by Owain Arwel Hughes.
