CONCORDE ON THE RIVER THAMES
Tuesday 13 April
4.30pm-6pm between Lambeth and Westminster Bridges
Concorde G-BOAA will spend most of Tuesday moored at
Nine Elms, Vauxhall, having left Chiswick Reach at
midnight. She is due to arrive in Lambeth Reach -
between Lambeth and Westminster Bridges - at about
4.30pm. The fuselage will not be visible from the
riverside for most of her journey on the Thames because
she is inside the heavy lift vessel Terra Marique.
However, there is a photo opportunity planned opposite
the Palace of Westminster between 4.30pm and 6pm when
the plane will be raised up from the barge for viewing.
Concorde will pass under Westminster Bridge at about
6pm, reaching Blackfriars Bridge 25 minutes later. She
will pass through Tower Bridge at approximately 6.45pm.

ZANDRA RHODES: SAN DIEGO AND THE BIRTH OF THE PEARL
FISHERS
Wednesday 14 April
7pm at the Fashion and Textile Museum, Bermondsey
Street; �5 (conc �3.50)
This exciting talk will feature internationally
recognized fashion and textile designer Zandra Rhodes
as she shares with a London audience the work and
inspiration of her critically acclaimed opera designs
for the San Diego Opera.  Zandra will explore her
textile and historical references, and discuss the
making and craft of opera costume and set design.

ARCHBISHOPS PARK CONSULTATION AND FUN DAY
Saturday 17 April
1pm-4pm in Archbishops Park, Lambeth Palace Road
A masterplan to improve this vital green space has been
drawn up by the Friends of Archbishops Park and
Groundwork. Come and have your say on which
developments you think are most important. It will be a
fun-packed day with activities for all ages, including
tennis, cricket, football tournament from 1pm, an
Easter egg hunt at 2pm, bouncy castle, refreshments and
more.


FLORA LONDON MARATHON 2004
Sunday 18 April
The event starts at 9.45am in Greenwich but by
mid-morning runners will be in Tooley Street heading
for Tower Bridge, just over 12 miles from the start.
This year's celebrity runners include SE1 resident
Jeffrey Archer, Floella Benjamin, Brough Scott and Iain
Duncan Smith. 
Jamaica Road will be closed to traffic at 9.05am and is
likely to reopen at about 1.30pm. Tower Bridge will be
closed between 9.15am and 2.45pm (approx). The
Metropolitan Police will commence vehicle removals on
the whole route from 7am.
Sally Gunnell will be reporting from Tower Bridge as
part of BBC One's television coverage of the Marathon
from 8.30am.

PRESCOTT APPROVES SHELL CENTRE DEVELOPMENT
The Times reported on Friday that the Deputy Prime
Minister has approved the �160 million redevelopment of
the Shell Centre on the South Bank.

Police are growing increasingly concerned about the
welfare of a 75 year old Lewisham pensioner who was
last seen at the Elephant and Castle branch of the
Abbey bank.

GAS LEAK ON THE OLD KENT ROAD LEADS TO TRAVEL CHAOS
Bus and car travel is being disrupted by the closure of
Old Kent Road for emergency repairs to a gas main - and
the chaos could last up to two weeks.

Sky News reported on Tuesday night that Waterloo
International was the target of a foiled plot to launch
a chemical attack in the UK.

Butler's Wharf-based Amos Partnership have settled with
the Business Software Alliance for $12,000 following an
investigation into the use of illegal software.
