MORE HEALTHY WALKS TO FEED THE MIND: LAST IN THE SERIES
Wednesday 11 August
Local writer John Constable's series of free guided
walks around North Southwark. The aim of the walks is
to help local residents discover healthier, safer ways
of getting around their neighbourhood. Explore its
fascinating history, culture and community with
Southwark Mysteries and help survey new routes to
inform future transport and planning decisions.
Bankside Restaurant is offering a 20 per cent discount
to all participants in the Healthy Walks.

MORE MUSIC, MORE LONDON - THIS WEEK: MORE JAZZ

Following the success of More London's inaugural music
festival in 2003, More Music returns to the Scoop this
summer with three weeks of concerts.  Featuring some
favourites from last year's line-up as well as brand
new acts, More Music will be tapping into the talent of
the  different types of musicians in London. This week
is jazz week and the final week focuses on Latin music,
culminating in a fiery display of music
and dance on Saturday 21 August.  
* Wednesday 11 August - KELLY DICKSON
Kelly is a sweet singing sensation. With true Diva
qualities, this wonderful performer wows audiences with
her sensual and swinging sets of brilliant tracks that
span the best of the last four decades of jazz. 
* Thursday 12 August - DAVID WILLIAMSON QUARTET
Dave has led and played in some of the hottest bands on
the circuit today, as well as having a busy session
career, playing with the Pop Idol Swing Band on their
sold out tour. 
* Friday 13 August - THE JAMIE ANDERSON QUARTET
Jamie is continuing to be one of the finest and most
versatile musicians playing in the UK today. Since
being a finalist in the Perrier Young Jazz Musician of
the Year in 1996, Jamie has excelled in many diverse
projects and has enjoyed two national tours to critical
and commercial acclaim.

CARNAVAL DEL PUEBLO WORKSHOPS
Thursday 12 & Saturday 14 August

Looking to have some fun and do something a bit
different? Latin American Workshops are looking for
enthusiastic, fun-loving people to join their music and
dance workshops in preparation for the float procession
and Carnaval Del Pueblo on Sunday 15 August - explore
the similarities in rhythms from Africa, the Caribbean,
Latin America - everybody is welcome, experienced or
not! Carnaval Del Pueblo is the biggest Latin American
carnival in the UK and takes place in Burgess Park,
Camberwell. Over 100,000 people are going this year
making for a vary exciting experience. If you are
interested in helping to make a float join the free
workshops this week at the Cuming Museum.

EARTHY DELIGHTS - FAMILY FUN DAY AT MINT STREET PARK

A day of free family activities, including craft and
drama workshops, nature trails, eco-battles, community
