Residents' groups are concerned that the properties will be sold to the highest bidder rather than to a social landlord and are mounting a united campaign against the sale, which the believe will be against the interest of the tenants and would cause a breakup of the local community. This follows a meeting of Walworth tenants on 21 September attended by approximately 150 tenants and addressed by Harriet Harman MP and a local councillor. The broad theme will be to try to define the relationship between artistic work and the mainstream religions, and discover the potential of the arts as a means of inter-faith dialogue and mutual understanding. Speakers include Patrick Spottiswoode (Globe Education), Esther Stanford (SAVO), John Harley (United Religions) and Ajmal Masroor (Communities in Action) �There will also be performance snippets including a Gospel Choir, 'His Own' and Kathak dance Malti Patel in collab with VOOA. Kwoto will have worked for a week with young dancers from NRgDANCE and East London Dance Youth Company to create a new work for London. The African dancers will be joined by London choreographers Nicky McGinty, Natasha Cox and Bonnie Oddie in creating the piece. As well as the premiere of this new work, in part two Kwoto will also be presenting outstanding examples of their music, song and dance from the refugee camps.
