The second evening will look at: Applying knowledge from the first evening/Section 106/Reading drawings/Design and layout http://www.wbcf.org THE WONDERFUL HUMAN KIDNEY STORY Friday 17 March 1pm at Guy's Hospital Chapel, St Thomas' Street; free, open to all Map: http://quicklink.se1direct.co.uk/?id=997 Pupils from the Cathedral School of St Saviour and St Mary Overie will be performing this play, staged to celebrate National Science Week and funded by the Guy's and St Thomas' Charity. The 27 six year olds will wear red or white baseball caps to represent red and white blood cells and demonstrate how a kidney works on a set constructed out of church pews to look like a giant nephron � the functional unit of the kidney that filters and cleans the blood. A modern dialysis machine and older, larger artificial kidney from the 70s have been provided by Guy's Hospital so that the audience and school class can see the progress being made in dialysis services, and compare the artificial kidney to a model of the human kidney, kindly provided on the day by The Gordon Museum. http://www.cathedral.southwark.sch.uk/ http://www.gsttcharity.org.uk FAMILY FUN ON BOARD HMS BELFAST OVER ST PATRICK'S WEEKEND Friday 17 March to Sunday 19 March HMS Belfast, Morgan's Lane, Tooley Street.
