UBS OPENINGS: THE LONG WEEKEND - FREE EVENTS AT TATE MODERN 
Friday 25 to Monday 28 May
at Tate Modern, Bankside; free
A four-day festival of performance, dance, music and family
activities for the late May bank holiday. On Friday and
Saturday French artist Mathieu Briand will turn the Turbine
Hall into a gigantic sound installation. On Sunday and
Monday Brazilian artist Marepe reveals his spectacular
gigantic carousel made from found objects from in his native
Brazil, surrounded by tables laden with toffee apples. 
There will be a return of The Great Turbine Challenge, the
3000 square foot board game on the bridge in the Turbine
Hall. Four yurts, each 24 feet in diameter, will be erected
on the lawn outside Tate Modern. Families will be able to
take part in a variety of activities.
