PROJECT LOVE - WATERLOO ARTIST SOHEILA KEYANI
Wednesday 5 September
5.30pm-8.30pm  at St John's, Waterloo Road
Waterloo-based artist Soheila Keyani will be exhibiting
works from her 'Project Love' art events which aim to create
connections between Londoners and different cultures across
the world. The most recent events in June and July saw
Londoners paint messages of love and friendship for people
in India. Directed by Iranian-bord Keyani, visitors are
asked to create messages of love and explore their own
creativity through painting, drawing or making collages.

ANNUAL PUBLIC MEETING - GUY'S AND ST THOMAS' NHS TRUST
Wednesday 5 September
6pm-7.30pm at Greenwood Theatre, 55 Weston Street
Find out more about the work of SE1's two hospitals over the
last year and plans for 2007/08. Doors open at 5.30pm when
you will be able to browse a range of information stalls.
The meeting runs from 6pm to 7.30pm with presentations from
staff to explain services and new developments and a chance
to ask any questions you may have about the hospitals.

OYSTER & SEAFOOD FAIR AT HAY'S GALLERIA
Friday 7 to Sunday 9 September
Fri & Sat 11am-8pm; Sun 11am-6pm at Hay's Galleria, Tooley
Street; free
Arrive with an appetite and feast on fresh fish supplied by
some of the country's finest fishmongers and cooked in front
of you by a team of chefs. Oysters and seafood will be in
abundance and whether you're in the mood for lobster,
langoustines, crayfish or crab, you'll find a glass of
champagne or even a pint of Guinness to complement them
perfectly. For families the Fair is brought to life by
street entertainers, face painters and a live Caribbean
steel band.

BIRDS OF PREY DEMONSTRATION AT THE SCOOP
Friday 7 September
12 noon-2pm at The Scoop,  More London Riverside; free
Watch, hold and learn about falcons and other birds of prey.
There'll be demonstrations, a chance get close and even hold
the birds or just listen and learn.

GREAT RIVER RACE
Saturday 8 September
Approx times Lambeth Bridge 3.15pm; Tower Bridge 3.35pm 
Annual 22-mile race down the Thames from Richmond to
Greenwich. Any traditional-style, coxed boat, propelled by a
minimum of four oars or paddles, without sliding seats or
riggers, may take part. Each boat is computer-handicapped
according to its potential performance, so everyone has an
equal chance in this 'slowest away first, fastest last'
handicap race. Every year brings a new and unusual boat to
test the handicappers.

GASLIGHT - COMMUNITY FILM CLUB AT TATE MODERN
Monday 10 September
7pm refreshments from 6.30pm at Tate Modern,  Bankside; free
Film based on the Patrick Hamilton play Gaslight recently
seen at The Old Vic. This is the 1940 British film; not to
be confused with the 1944 MGM version. Membership of the
Community Film Club is primarily aimed at those living and

[ Noticeboard: Young Southwark Cyclists ]

Young Southwark Cyclists (YSC) is a club for under-18s based
at Burgess Park Bike Track. Membership costs �5 for 1 year,
and gets you access to their rides and events including
barbecues, parties and races around the track with prizes,
as well as maintenance evenings where you can get your bike
fixed by an expert and learn how to fix it up yourself. Drop
by the bike track at 4.30 on Tuesdays to fill out a
membership form - find it in Burgess Park opposite the
junction of Albany Road and Portland Street.

5pm) & 23 September
