HARVESTIVAL AT POTTERS FIELDS PARK
Monday 9 & Tuesday 10 June
11am-3pm at Potters Fields Park,  Tooley Street; free
As Ribena's growers prepare to harvest their blackcurrant
crops, Harvestival will be touring the country in
celebration of the great British outdoors. The first event
is at Potters Fields Park and offers city dwellers a winning
combination of countryside contests and farm food
experiences, all accompanied by live music.

YOUTH VOLUNTEERING PROJECT LAUNCH FOR LOCAL 16-25-YEAR-OLDS

Children and Young People's service together with Bankside
Open Spaces Trust and funded by Vinvolved will be engaging

OXFORD STREET: THEATRE AT ELEPHANT & CASTLE SHOPPING CENTRE

Oxford Street, by Levi David Addai, will take over a shop
unit at the Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre for a week
following its run at the Royal Court Theatre. The play is
directed by Dawn Walton, and the cast will include Preeya
Kalidas, Nathaniel Martello-White and Ashley Walters (also
known as Asher D from So Solid Crew). Oxford Street is a
boisterous comedy that looks beyond the glossy facade of the
high street, at the stories and ambitions of the workers
within.

COMBATANT STATUS REVIEW TRIBUNALS PP.002954-003064: A PUBLIC

eighteen Combatant Status Review Tribunals held at the US
military prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba between July
2004 and March 2005.

SOUTH BANK FORUM: INCLUDES Q&A WITH LAMBETH COUNCIL LEADER
Thursday 12 June
7pm-9pm  at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, 108 Stamford
Street
Quarterly meeting for South Bank residents chaired by MPs
Kate Hoey and Simon Hughes. Representatives from Lambeth and
Southwark Councils and other groups including Blackfriars
Settlement and the Association of Waterloo Groups will
update the Forum on the range of services on offer for older
people in the neighbourhood, together with a look ahead to
their future plans. The Florence Nightingale Museum is
aiming to raise 2 million ahead of 2010, the centenary of
Nightingale's death. Lord Crisp, Chair of the fundraising
committee and Caroline Worthington, Director of the Museum,
will outline the key strands to the project and how you can
get involved. Cllr Steve Reed, the Leader of Lambeth
Council, will take your questions and update the Forum on
the borough's latest plans.

ADVENTURES IN URBAN FOLKLORE
Thursday 12 June
7.45pm-8.30pm  at The Old King's Head, Kings Head Yard,

South East London Folklore Society host Scott goes through
the contemporary ritual yearin London, stopping off at
twentieth and twenty-first century folklore. Meet the
Deptford Jack-in-the-Green. Hear of how Bridget and Imbolc
scared the horses in Wimbledon. Remember Solstices in south
London, Goddess worship in Southwark and Greenwich, recoil
at accounts of young men being "banged out" on Clerkenwell
streets, discover the truth about the friendly terrorists
warning in Harrods and much more. This is an introduction to
a huge, exhilarating and very much living world of London
folklore today.

SAM'S DAY: FREE WORKSHOPS AT THE GLOBE
Saturday 14 June
10am-5pm  at Shakespeare's Globe,  New Globe Walk; free
A day of free workshops, demonstrations and platform
discussions will be taking place to celebrate Sam
Wanamaker's birthday. There will be workshops on movement,
voice, text and acting, family activities and stage combat
demonstrations. Events are free to all. No advance booking
is necessary but arrive early to avoid disappointment.

STREET VIBE FESTIVAL OF SOUND AT THE SCOOP
Saturday 14 June
11.30am-6pm  at The Scoop,  More London Riverside; free
The world's largest whoopee cushion, carrot whistles,
watermelon drums and a technological makeover for pop star
wannabes are a few of the highlights of the free Street Vibe
Festival of Sound. Street Vibe is a major free one-off event
for all ages that explores the weird and wonderful role of
science and engineering in making music and sound.

PULSE FESTIVAL: COIN STREET FESTIVAL ON SOUTH BANK
Saturday 14 June
1pm-7pm  at Bernie Spain Gardens,  Upper Ground
London's largest festival of contemporary and traditional
Central and Eastern European culture with music, themed food
and drink market and fantastic atmosphere. Experience the
new music that is coming out of the fusion of the new
migration, mixing traditional sounds with jazz, electronic
and rock music.

LONDON NAKED BIKE RIDE
Saturday 14 June
Annual 6-mile naked bike ride starting in Hyde Park. The
ride will come to the South Bank via Westminster Bridge and
follow York Road before returning north via Waterloo Bridge.
