The young contestants, newly qualified Thames Watermen and Lightermen, are followed by a flotilla of spectator launches on the four mile and five furlong course. Good viewing from Bankside, the Bridges and, of course, the Doggett's pub on the end of Blackfriars Bridge. Featuring a 50-strong orchestra of actors, dancers, musicians, singers and classically-trained instrumentalists, all playing found and invented instruments from violins replaced by saws and traffic cones becoming trombones to performing shopping trolleys and musical vacuum cleaners. Southbank Centre's Voicelab is recruiting a choir to take part in Lost and Found. Led by Mary King, the workshop focusses on singing and movement.
