HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY ACT OF REMEMBRANCE Tuesday 27 January 11am at Soviet War Memorial, Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Park, Lambeth Road Ceremonies at the tree dedicated by Southwark Council to Holocaust Memorial Day and an Act of Remembrance at the Soviet War Memorial. The Mayor of Southwark, representatives of CIS embassies, British Second World War veterans and other individuals and organisations supporting the SMTF will lay wreaths at the Soviet War Memorial during the Act of Remembrance. The short ceremony will include brief addresses from key participants, the sounding of the Last Post and a two minute silence. This year will mark its 800th anniversary. To commemorate this and to raise money for The Lord Mayor's Appeal the London Bridge Anniversary Fair will be held on Saturday 28 March. London Bridge will be closed to traffic for the day and the historic bridge will be recreated with craftsmen selling their wares as they would have done hundreds of years ago. The organisers are looking for performers to entertain the crowds on the bridge during the day. All are welcome � from poets to jugglers to musicians to actors � but should provide entertainment appropriate to the period that the old bridge stood - 1209 to 1831.
