The race, organised by Better Bankside, will raise money for local charity Paintings in Hospitals which runs the Menier Gallery. Spectators and participants will be able to buy pancakes with a variety of toppings from market trader Baxter's and the Southwark Cathedral Refectory. Celebrity chefs are being dragged back into the real world to prepare and cook for a restaurant full of paying customers. Going head to head, two chefs will each be offering up a starter, a main course and a dessert. Diners choose which one to order - and at the end of the evening the chef who's made the most profit will win the competition. All profits go to the chefs' nominated charities.
