Volunteers are crucial to the success of the Legion's annual Poppy Appeal but as well as its army of volunteer collectors in October and November, the London team also needs people throughout the year to help with the mammoth task of the organisation behind the collections. The day will embrace and involve everyone from 6 to 60 with fun activities across the site, introducing visitors to the Sonnets and the theme of love in Shakespeare. There'll be love songs to show tenderness, Sword-fighting with Capulets & the Montagues to show passion, together with workshops and fun games on stage for the public to take part in. Sonneteers across the site will engage visitors with the charm and creative inspiration of this extraordinary building and the great legacy of Shakespeare's work and there'll also be the opportunity to take part in a record breaking attempt to film the most people ever say one sonnet.
