Please reply to PO Box email: [email protected] CUBA VIDA AND CUBA LIBRE PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITIONS BY TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER ELEANOR MARRIOTT Travel photographer Eleanor Marriott is holding another solo London exhibition of her Cuban photographs this summer. Cuba Vida, in conjunction with ArTELIER, consists of Eleanor's ten most popular photographs commemorating 50 years since the Cuban Revolution. It takes place at the Bridewell Theatre bar just off Fleet Street until 15 August 2009. Eleanor's larger Cuba Libre exhibition at Canning House on Belgrave Square has also been extended due to popular demand until the end of July 2009. So there are now two opportunities to see her photographic portrayals of Cuban life. In 2009 Eleanor Marriott travelled around Cuba photographing the island in order to capture the spirit of the place 50 years after its revolution. She discovered that Cuba is much more than a land of cigars and classic cars. It's a place of crumbling colonial buildings, of music coming from houses, plazas, cafes and bars; of men playing dominoes on porches and children playing baseball in the streets with plastic bottle caps and sticks of wood. http://www.eleanormarriottphotography.co.uk http://www.artelier.org.uk/cubavida ============================================================ { Hot topics from the London SE1 Forum } Our weekly digest of new topics started at http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/list/1 * Child-friendly pubs/restaurants near Borough http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113407 * Motorcycle stunt crossing Tower Bridge http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113348 * Restaurant for nice Sunday dinner in SE1? http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113332 * Space Shuttle over SE1 http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113299 * City Walk/Long Lane planning application http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113297 * Old Pictures of SE1 & surrounding area on Facebook http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113285 * Laundrettes in SE1 http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113251 * Cockney Walk for Help for Heroes http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113225 * ...can you recommend a good local solicitor? http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/8/113212 * Local cupcake maker needed http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113211 * PLEASE HELP! - Parking in SE17 or SE5 http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113208 * Old phones, chargers, transformers? http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113194 * Dogwalkers http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113186 * Improving Bermondsey Local Parks http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113182 * Cycle hire docking station for BHS and elsewhere http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113170 * Parking Post http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113163 * Adding an extra lock to a lock-up garage http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113154 * Looking for local singing teacher (Musical Theatre) http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/1/113149 To see all the current active forum topics, go to: http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/list/1 ============================================================ { Local organisations forum with Better Bankside } * Summer activities locally for an 11yr old Autistic boy http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/9/111680 * Looking for hall to hire near London Bridge http://www.london-se1.co.uk/forum/read/9/111282 To see all the current active forum topics, go to: http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/list/9 ============================================================ { Business forum in association with Better Bankside } * Looking for 1 desk space in London Bridge area http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/7/112786 * Office Space Needed Near Borough Market http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/7/112437 * Looking for office space in SE1! http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/7/112287 * Calling all healthcare workers: Complementary or not! http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/forum/read/7/112114 Read more at http://forum.betterbankside.co.uk ============================================================ CONTACT DETAILS ============================================================ Before sending us event information please see http://www.banksidepress.com/listings/ Editor: James Hatts - [email protected] SE1 Direct is copyright (c) 2009 Bankside Press ============================================================ SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION ============================================================
