BANKSIDE RESIDENTS' FORUM: OPEN FORUM

6.30pm at Bankside Community Space, 18 Great Guildford
Street
Come and meet your neighbours and find out more about
Bankside isses. Agenda includes a presentation by DLA
Architects on 16-26 Borough High Street (demolished for the
Thameslink viaduct). Plus news of the ban on ice cream vans
and new licensing arrangements for buskers and street
traders on Bankside. There will also be an overview of

SOUTH BANK 'FILMS ON FOOT' WALK
Wednesday 13 October
Meet 7pm at Pimlico Underground Station; free
The Ramblers are running a Films on Foot series of walks to
celebrate London as a film location and to coincide with the
London Film Festival. All of the walks are free, open to
everyone and end at a pub. The walks are led by volunteer
members from Metropolitan Walkers, Capital Walkers and South
Bank Ramblers. Join the Capital Walkers (30s/40s walking
group) for a 4 mile film location walk along the South Bank
and Bankside, two of the most popular places to film in the
last decade with locations such as the London Eye, Tate
Modern and the Millennium Bridge. Ends at a pub in Borough
where a well-known rom com was filmed.

THE COSY COMEDY CLUB AT THE CINEMA MUSEUM

THE DALBY SPOOK: A FORTEAN MYSTERY ON THE ISLE OF MAN
Thursday 14 October
8pm at The Old King's Head, Kings Head Yard, 45-49 Borough

In 1931 a poor farmer's daughter in the Isle of Man claimed
to have made friends with a little animal who quickly learnt
English and a smattering of other languages, and even sang
songs. 'Gef the Talking Mongoose' lived with the family for
a number of years, by turns a mischievous, helpful, and
menacing presence. Chris Josiffe tells the fascinating story
at this South East London Folklore Society event.

ASC OPEN STUDIOS: BLACKFRIARS RD, UNION ST & GLASSHILL ST

Leading artist studio providers ASC will be hosting an open
studios weekend at their 11 buildings across south and east
London. ASC is a registered charity that exists to support
artists and currently provides work space to over 750
contemporary visual artists. This event is a real
opportunity to see and gain a better understanding of
contemporary art from one of the largest studio providers in
the UK. In some cases you will also be able to buy art
directly from the artist without gallery commission. ASC's
studios at Erlang House in Blackfriars Road, Glasshill
Street and Union Street will all be taking part.

our city coped with nine months of intense air raids and how
