French, Spanish, Italian, German and Portuguese A series of lunchtime language courses will be running from Thursday January 27th to until Thursday March 31st. The early morning classes will be near Moorgate. The lunchtime and evening courses will be held in-house at More London and are open to beginners, intermediate and advanced speakers of French, Spanish and Italian. Info & map: http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/whatson/event/10333 THE BLESSING OF THE RIVER THAMES - CEREMONY ON LONDON BRIDGE Sunday 9 January 12.30pm at London Bridge, The clergy and congregations of Southwark Cathedral and the church of St Magnus the Martyr, whose parish boundaries meet on London Bridge, process to the centre for a short service. This Thames tradition follows the Orthodox custom of hurling a cross into water as a symbol of Christ's baptism which is celebrated on the Sunday after the Epiphany. The annual London Bridge event, which draws on ancient customs, was established six years ago at the initiative of Fr Philip Warner, parish priest at St Magnus.
