ONE DAY WITHOUT SHOES
Tuesday 10 April
12pm-7pm on South Bank outside Royal Festival Hall; free
Today TOMS asks the world to go without shoes for its annual
One Day Without Shoes event. Southbank Centre TOMS is
hosting a day of music, food, art & crafts and other
barefoot happenings - including lots of great 'one for one'
offers. The event will offer something for all ages, from
Kids Hour with fun creative sessions at 2pm to Happy Hour at
6pm � where those that take their shoes off and attend
barefoot at 6pm will be able to take advantage of free
coffee, burritos, flowers and other treats while enjoying
live music by Matthew and The Atlas. The event will finish
with a barefoot walk towards the London Eye.

DICKENS, LAMBETH AND THE RIVER THAMES
Thursday 12 April

Dickens the novelist, Dickens the journalist and Dickens the
social reformer: the man came to Lambeth in many guises.
Lambeth Archivist, Jon Newman, explores his overlapping
accounts and descriptions of the place and in particular of
the River Thames that flowed around it and made Lambeth
distinct from the rest of London.

CLASSICS WITH MY BABY: THE ART OF SONG
Friday 13 April
10.30am (eat cake and mingle from 10am) at St Mary Magdalen,
Bermondsey Street; adults �10 (children free) at the door
Featuring Norbert Meyn (tenor), Philippa Mo (violin) and
Miaomiao Yu (piano). From performances in the major halls of
Europe, Norbert Meyn (tenor) brings you a programme of art
songs from the classical masters. Hear of a child's longing
for Spring (here was Mozart in 1791 stuck in Viennese snow);
flowers and burning love (Haydn felt this long before
Elvis); the hurly-burly of roaring cannons and ships at sea
(Haydn again) and tales of wandering spirits... The
classical series for babies and toddlers this month opens
its doors to children of all ages for this Easter holiday
concert.

YOUR LONDON: FAMILY ART WORKSHOP

A fun day for children, their mums and dads, uncles, aunts
and grannies and granddads. Led by the Royal Watercolour
Society artists who will help you get creative and paint a
panorama of what you see around you just outside the gallery
- St Paul's, the Millennium Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe, the
River Thames, the new Blackfriars Bridge and the City over
the river. Or come and share images of your own street or
house. All materials will be provided. No booking required -

TINO SEHGAL WORKSHOPS AT TATE MODERN

Tate Modern is offering local residents and workers the
opportunity to participate in workshops with the artist Tino
Sehgal, which will take place in the Turbine Hall out of the
normal museum opening hours. During these workshops, Sehgal
will explore ideas behind his practice with the group. The
workshop activities will include game-like conversational
and movement exercises, as well as the opportunity to
experiment and create your own exercises. Those of all ages
and experience are welcome, participation is free.
