Info & map: http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/whatson/event/12727 EXCHANGING PLACES: CYCLISTS CAN SIT IN CAB OF HGV Friday 15 June 7.30am-10.30am at Potters Fields Park, Tooley Street; free Southwark Council arranges Exchanging Places events to raise awareness of cycle safety. These events allow people to sit in the driver's seat of an HGV to get a better understanding of what the driver can and cannot to see, especially in regards to cyclists on the nearside and directly in front of the vehicle. As well as the HGV, there will normally be free cycle maintenance services, cycle security marking and cycling information. The event continues from 12 noon to 2pm in nearby Weavers Lane. More than 45 fine artists, artisans and designers will be offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy and purchase paintings, prints, sculpture, fashion, accessories and much more. Borough Market traders will be on hand to offer an artistic afternoon tea with the finest Borough Market produce. Traders opening especially for the event include Oliver's Bakery; Burnt Sugar; Bread Ahead, Comptoir Gourmand and the Turkish Deli. Alongside Borough Market's traders there will be will be an array of local artists including Rebecca Chitty, offering witty Olympic-inspired tea-towels; Deborah Hayman who makes beautiful hand-crafted jewellery, John Whitfield's haunting photography; and a chance to build your own biscuit skyline with community artist Eleanor Shipman.
