SUMMER LATE: ONE-OFF

The Design Museum's annual summer late will be hosted by
curating agency Double Decker. Featuring a series of talks,
music performances and workshops, this year's theme will
celebrate ONE-OFF design. ONE-OFF provides a unique
opportunity to explore the museum, with live demonstrations
of the latest technological processes including 3D printing
and Laser Cutting, a chance to re-create iconic pieces from
the Design Museum Collection, talks exploring the designs of
the future and guests creating their own works of art. Get
involved in ONE OFF Analogue with East London collective
People of Print and create your own one-off tote bag. Using
iconic images from the Design Museum Collection,
screen-print your favourite design onto a tote bag in a
choice of different neon colours.

TURKISH FEST ON THE SOUTH BANK
Saturday 27 to Sunday 28 July
12 noon-7pm at Bernie Spain Gardens,  Upper Ground; free
Turkish Fest is transforming Bernie Spain Gardens with its
exciting programme of entertainment, creative artists and
rich river bazaar catering for every mood and all ages. The
festival is aimed to promote Turkish culture and integration
of people via the event where contemporary and traditional
Turkish art, music, folklore, performance and fashion items
will be on display. 56 stalls will be selling traditional
Turkish food and handcrafted items. There will be
contemporary live music, traditional folk dance performances
and belly dancing.

will look at poetry, short stories and life writing - open

Part of the Rose's programme of family friendly morning
events specially linked to Key Stage 2 sections of the
education syllabus. Youngsters will be able to extend their
appreciation of both the rich and poor in Tudor /
Elizabethan times. The sessions will look at many aspects of
food and entertainment, the Elizabethan theatre, local
history and characters of the time. This month, a practical
look at the fashions of the time and the rules about what
colours and materials could be worn. �Some samples may be
tried on. All children must be accompanied by a responsible
adult.� Supported by United St Saviour's Charity.
