Referred to by Sellers' biographer as a 'masterpiece', 'a cult oddity' and his 'greatest performance', Sellers plays Sam, a street musician who dreams of music hall stars and befriends two slum children. Music credits include Lionel Bart and George Martin (often referred to as the fifth Beatle). Today Nine Elms - from the Vauxhall Tower to the revamped Battersea Power Station, is one large development site that will include a relocated US embassy and a Frank Gehry building. The film provides a breath-taking insight into what the riverside boroughs looked like 40 years ago. To join the Community Film Club, email [email protected] or call 020 7401 5176. Membership is open to those living in Southwark and Lambeth.
