To save London from the Danish attacks and to secure the claim on the crown by Ethelred the Unready, Olav pulled down London Bridge and so saved the city. He went from London to Rouen in Normandy where he was baptised in the cathedral. Southwark Cathedral is linked with Rouen Cathedral and Bergen Cathedral and the three cathedrals will join together in a celebration of St Olav in Rouen in the autumn. This event with members of the Norwegian community in London marks the beginnings of Southwark's celebrations. A fantastic opportunity for some free advice on reorganising your office, business or home. Waterloo Millennium Green is a popular green oasis for local people to escape the hectic environment of urban London. Large numbers of visitors at lunchtimes make the green a vibrant place on warm sunny days, but the team of volunteers and staff who look after the park are overwhelmed with lunch wrappers and food packaging from hundreds of take-away lunches. This event celebrates local engagement with green space and will start a conversation about caring for our park and keeping it beautiful through plants not packaging. A Love Parks Week event. The cakes will go on public display on Emma Cons Gardens (opposite the Old Vic theatre) from 12 noon. Kimberley Wilson, finalist on last year's BBC Great British Bake Off, and Gerhard Jenne of Konditor & Cook will assess the baking skills of the Waterloo hopefuls and announce the winning creation at 1pm. Members of the public are invited to come along to the 'big' cake sale and try a slice of cake (or two) between 5-7pm to help raise funds for the Waterloo Food Bank. Waterloo businesses signed up to take part include Eden Catering, H10 London Waterloo Hotel, Cubana, Horse & Stables, The Walrus, Windmill Taverns, Raffo & Ridgeway and HMP Brixton's Bad Boys Bakery.
