It alternates between a British soldier's experiences of the hell of warfare and the impassioned exchanges between him and his lover, a field nurse. Actor and director Steve Lambert stars as the soldier. His lover is played by Susanne Gschwendtner. This run of the show - in a small hall just yards from the Elephant & Castle junction - is a concerted effort between the Draper Residents' Association, Badac Theatre and Infallible Productions to bring contemporary, affordable and important theatre in non-theatrical spaces and to involve local residents more closely in the arts. Info & map: http://www.London-SE1.co.uk/whatson/event/16729 SOUTHWARK CIVIC SERVICE Saturday 7 March 11am (congregation asked to be seated by 10.45am) at Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge The Mayor of Southwark Cllr Sunil Chopra is inviting all who live, work, or study in the borough to join him for the annual Southwark Civic Service. The service - jointly organised by the Mayor's Office, Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market - will celebrate 1,000 years of Borough Market in Southwark. The gathering will be addressed by the Dean of Southwark, Very Revd Andrew Nunn, and Cllr Peter John, leader of Southwark Council. Music will be provided by the Southwark Cathedral Singers, ARK All Saints' Academy Choir and the David Idowu Choir. A special poem has been commissioned to mark the occasion, written and performed by Suley Muhidin, a former Southwark Council apprentice and now a member of staff in the council's community engagement division. A selection of Borough Market produce will be on display and the vice chair of the trustees of Borough Market, David Lyon, will also be taking part in the service.
