Hosted by John Constable, the 'Bard of Southwark' who revealed the secret history of Crossbones in The Southwark Mysteries. With Nigel of Bermondsey, the south London folklorist who immortalised Crossbones in song, violin virtuoso and street opera diva Kirsten Morrison, singer-autoharpist Irene Anderson and poet Ana Sefer. There'll be opportunities for poems, songs and personal testimonies from the audience. For your comfort, please bring a cushion and dress for the weather. This meeting has a focus on open spaces and green spaces. Agenda includes the proposals for Archbishop's Park, Hungerford Car Park, the Garden Bridge and Hatfields Green. Better Bankside has secured a grant from the Greater London Authority's High Street Fund to make improvements to the streetscene in this location which will tie into the new Quietway cycle route and the construction of the new cultural developments. A draft design has been developed which seeks to improve the public realm, with new trees and planting, high quality yorkstone paving and seating.
