POLYPHONY DOWN THE PUB
Monday 23 November
7pm at The Horse & Stables, 122-124 Westminster Bridge Road;
free
Singing/socialising event - a pub 'jam session' but instead
of playing folk music or jazz, people turn up to sing a
cappella masterpieces from the 16th century by Palestrina,
Victoria and others. Anyone who can read music and wants to
take part should download the sheet music from the PDtP
website; anyone who doesn't read music is still welcome to
come along and listen. No audition, no rehearsal, no
performance; just people in a pub making music.

Drop-in event with information stalls about different
aspects of the new cancer centre which opens next year at
Guy's Hospital.

FREE LUNCHTIME CONCERT
Thursday 26 November
1pm at St George the Martyr,  Borough High Street; free
Piano Recital by Saki Matsumoto - pieces by Beethoven,
Ravel, Chopin & Liszt. The recital lasts approx 45 minutes,
followed by light refreshments and a chance to meet the
artist. Audience members are welcome to bring their lunch to
eat during the recital.

FRANK'S CLUB

Blackfriars Settlement has been invited to hold a special
session of Frank's Club as part of Southbank Centre's 'Being
a man' festival. Frank's Club welcomes men over 55 to play
table tennis and dominos, have a friendly chat and a cup of
tea. Both regular members and newcomers are welcome. Come
and meet new friends, share stories and enjoy the afternoon
together.

BERMONDSEY WALK WITH OLD MAPS

Join Ken Titmuss for a walk with old maps exploring the
one-time leather-making district. Among the warehouses you
will find find 17th century houses and a Victorian smithy.
Ken will show you how Bermondsey Council's Beautification
Committee transformed the workhouse site. Beyond the old
Watch House he will help you find traces of Bermondsey Abbey
in unexpected places.
