SUMMER OF CREATIVITY
Southbank Mosaics is offering free mosaic sessions between
11am and 3pm on weekdays over the summer until 25 August for
local residents who want to make a mosaic for a communal
space on their estate, or in the neighbourhood.

SAM RUSSELL
Tuesday 18 July
1.15pm at Southwark Cathedral,  London Bridge; free
Sam will be performing Bach's First and Second Cello Suites
on electric guitar in a similar style to Yo-yo Ma's
genre-defining recordings. Sam is the first neo-classical
electric guitarist in the world to perform these suites.

SOUTH BANK FORUM

7pm at Coin Street Neighbourhood Centre, 108 Stamford Street
Meeting for South Bank and Waterloo residents convened by
Kate Hoey MP and Neil Coyle MP together with councillors
from Bishop's ward and Cathedrals ward. Agenda includes a
presentation from Transport for London on plans for the BFI
IMAX roundabout and Waterloo Road. There will also be the
opportunity to learn about plans to redevelop the ITV site
on the South Bank.

SHAPING SOUTHWARK'S FUTURE - SOUTHWARK LIB DEMS

take part in a conversation about the future of their local
area, bringing people together from across Southwark to
discuss their ideas for making the borough a better place to

through a number of small and informal group discussions.

FAMILY FUN AT ST MARY'S

Uncover 900 years of Southwark Cathedral's architecture
whilst taking the opportunity to sketch the beautiful spaces
of this great building. A cathedral guide will share with

tour will cover six stops in the cathedral for an hour of
drawing and touring. Please bring your own art materials.

COLOMBO COMMUNITY DAY

Face-painting, bouncy castle, massage, sports games,
basketball, tennis and football skills and tournaments led
by Waterloo FC players... these are just some of the
fitness-inspired activities you can enjoy at the Colombo
Community Day, plus refreshments, gardening sessions and
health and well-being workshops. Celebrate the launch of
Colombo's brand new Community Room and find out about the
centre's new community activities and those from partner
organisations in the area.

CROSSBONES BLESSING AND CELEBRATION OF MARY MAGDALENE DAY
Saturday 22 July
1pm-3pm  at Cross Bones Graveyard, Union Street; free
For the third successive year, The Dean of Southwark, the
Very Revd Andrew Nunn, conducts a special service at
Crossbones, the unconsecrated outcasts' burial ground. This
'Act of Regret, Remembrance, Restoration' expresses regret
for the treatment of the 'Winchester Geese', the women who
worked in the Bankside brothels licensed by the Bishop of
Winchester, yet were allegedly denied Christian burial. It
is also an expression of of the Cathedral's support for the
Crossbones Garden of Remembrance. The service will be
followed by a performance of poems and songs inspired by
Crossbones, then a picnic in the garden. Presented by
Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST) in association with
Friends of Crossbones and Southwark Cathedral.
