THE CHANGING FACE OF ELEPHANT & CASTLE
Monday 20 to Saturday 25 November
12 noon-5pm at Borough Road Gallery, London South Bank
University, 103 Borough Road; free
The exhibition is designed to tie with the national launch
of the Explore Your Archive campaign -
www.exploreyourarchive.com - and to showcase the history of
the Elephant and Castle and LSBU's contribution to the area
over the last 125 years. Visitors to the exhibition will be
able to see items from both the university and the local
archives, as well as artwork by David Bomberg and art owned
by Southwark Council, which are not ordinarily displayed.

ECHO REFUGE MOBILE LIBRARY TALK & TOUR
Tuesday 21 November
6.30pm-8pm  at Travelling Through..., 131 Lower Marsh; £5
inc glass of wine
Meet Laura Samira Naude and Esther ten Zijthoff, the
volunteers operating a mobile library through the refugee
camps in Greece. Echo is a mobile library operated by
volunteers, which exists to give young adults the
opportunity to continue their education while they wait for
asylum. Join Laura and Esther as they speak about their
experiences running the mobile library through refugee camps
and their plans for the future. The Echo Mobile Library will
be stationed outside the shop for people to have a look
around after the talk.

FROZEN IN TIME COMMUNITY ARTS WORKSHOP
Wednesday 22 November
7pm-9pm  at Living Space, 1 Coral Street; free
Bankside Open Spaces Trust is hosting a series of community
arts workshops with artists from Emergency Exit Arts and
Output Arts. Participants will get the chance to create
beautiful handcrafted lanterns to be used in a magical
night-time parade on Friday 1 December as part of the
Blackfriars Stories programme. Anyone is welcome to drop in
and take part, with no previous experience needed.

CELEBRATION SALE
Thursday 23 November
11am-1.30pm  at Borough Market, 8 Southwark Street
Borough Market will hold its inaugural Celebration Sale,
bringing children from diverse communities together through
food. Primary school children with backgrounds spanning four
continents will set up stall in London's oldest food market
to sell cakes, breads and pastries they have made to
celebrate their cultural heritage.
