BLESSING OF THE RIVER THAMES

Processions from Southwark Cathedral and St Magnus the
Martyr Church in the City converge on London Bridge for the
annual Blessing of the River Thames. During the ceremony,
recalling the Baptism of Christ, a wooden cross is thrown
into the water.
